Payoneer More Than Doubles Its Fee for Pakistani Users

Payoneer, a widely used online payment platform, has announced a sharp rise in transaction fees for users in Pakistan. This move is expected to significantly affect freelancers and businesses that depend on Payoneer for sending and receiving payments.

Starting October 20, 2024, the transaction fee will jump from 2% to 3% of the total transaction amount, along with an additional fixed charge of $0.49 for USD transactions. For non-USD transactions, the fixed fee will be charged in the relevant transaction currency as follows: 0.39 GBP, 0.45 EUR, 0.75 AUD, 0.67 CAD, and 73.76 JPY.

The new fees will apply to payments made or received through debit and credit cards, as well as transactions processed via the “Request a Payment” or “Initiate a Payment” options.

While the fee increase is not immediate, users will start seeing the updated fees under their account’s fee page once the changes take effect on October 20, 2024. It’s important to note that any existing fees that are separate from this update will remain unchanged.

Payoneer explained the decision through its support page, stating, “To ensure we can keep giving you the best service, we periodically review our fees as the market changes. While these adjustments are necessary, our commitment to empowering your business growth remains our top priority.”
